Cardiac
Suspected Kidney Stones
If you’re dealing with intense side or back pain, you might have kidney stones. A non- contrast CT scan is the most accurate way to find out. It can quickly detect stones in your kidneys or ureters (the tubes that connect your kidneys to your bladder). This information helps you and your healthcare provider decide on the best treatment, whether it’s medication, a procedure, or surgery. With our direct access services, you can get the answers you need without delay.
Abdominal Pain
When you’re experiencing serious stomach pain, figuring out what’s wrong is important. A CT scan of your abdomen can help identify issues like appendicitis, diverticulitis, or even a bowel obstruction. These conditions can become serious if left untreated, but early detection allows for quick and effective treatment. Our CT services provide detailed images so your healthcare provider can make the right call.
Calcium Channel Score
A calcium score, combined with a lipid panel, apolipoprotein evaluation, and NMR fractionation, provides a comprehensive picture of your heart health. Each test offers important insights, and together they can give you a clearer idea of your risk for heart disease and how to manage it effectively.
How the Calcium Score Works
A calcium score, or coronary calcium score, helps measure the amount of calcium buildup in your heart’s arteries. Calcium can accumulate over time in these arteries, leading to blockages that restrict blood flow to your heart, which can eventually cause heart attacks or other heart problems.
The test uses a special X-ray machine called a CT scan to take images of your heart. These images show how much calcium is in your coronary arteries, which is then. calculated into a calcium score. Here’s what the results mean:
- Low score (0-100): Little or no calcium buildup, meaning a lower risk of heart problems.
- Medium score (100-300): Some calcium buildup, increasing your risk for heart disease.
- High score (300+): Significant calcium buildup, meaning a high risk of heart disease or future heart attacks.
Basic Lipid Panel
A lipid panel measures the fats in your blood, providing important clues about your heart health:
- Total cholesterol: The total amount of cholesterol in your blood.
- LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol: Also called “bad cholesterol,” high
levels of LDL can lead to plaque buildup in your arteries. - HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol: Known as “good cholesterol,”
HDL helps remove bad cholesterol from your blood. - Triglycerides: A type of fat in the blood. High levels can raise the risk of heart
disease.
Apolipoprotein Evaluation
- Apolipoprotein B (ApoB): This protein is associated with LDL cholesterol. High levels of ApoB indicate a greater risk of plaque buildup in the arteries.
- Apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1): Found in HDL cholesterol, ApoA1 is linked to heart-protective effects. Higher levels of ApoA1 are generally a good sign for heart health.
NMR Lipoprotein Fractionation
This test provides even more detailed information by analyzing the size and number of cholesterol particles in your blood:
- LDL particle number (LDL-P): A higher number of LDL particles means a higher risk of plaque buildup, even if total cholesterol levels seem normal.
- LDL particle size: Small, dense LDL particles are more likely to cause artery blockages than larger ones.
- HDL particle number (HDL-P): The more HDL particles you have, the better your body is at removing bad cholesterol.
Combining These Tests with a Calcium Score
A Great Value at $210
- Lipid Panel + Calcium Score: The lipid panel shows the amount of fats in your blood, while the calcium score shows how much calcium has already built up in your arteries. Together, these results help you see both the current condition of your arteries and your future risk for heart disease.
- Apolipoprotein Evaluation: This test goes beyond basic cholesterol levels, showing how well the proteins that carry cholesterol are working. High levels of ApoB can signal risk even if LDL cholesterol appears normal.
- NMR Fractionation: This test offers a closer look at the size and number of cholesterol particles. Smaller LDL particles are more likely to cause problems, so understanding these details can help you take action before heart issues develop.
We also offer:
Cardiovascular Panel – $400
This includes: Full cardiac panel + ultrasound bilateral carotid artery and ultrasound aortic abdominal.
Please call to schedule, appointments cannot be scheduled online for this panel.
What This Combination Helps You Know
- Heart Disease Risk: Combining the calcium score with these blood tests gives a more complete picture of your heart health, showing what’s currently happening in your arteries and helping predict what might happen in the future.
- Prevention: With this full range of information, you can make smarter decisions about diet, exercise, and medications to reduce your risk of heart disease.
- Personalized Information: Each of these tests provides unique insights into your body’s health. When used together, they offer a highly personalized view, allowing you to understand your specific risks and how to protect your heart.
This combined approach gives you a deeper understanding of your heart health, helping you make the best decisions for preventing heart disease and staying healthy in the long run.
